What is Smartfix?

SmartFix is a website that will assist students with refurbishing outdated school laptops to gain technology skills and hands-on experience while providing functional devices to students in need.

My Goal:

I will refurbish outdated school laptops for distribution to students in need and launch a student-facing diagnostic website. In collaboration with the school technology department, this platform will provide self-service solutions for the most common technical issues, reducing device downtime and ensuring students maintain uninterrupted access to their digital coursework.

Problem:

Many high school students in our school community lack access to functional laptops at home. However, schools often have outdated computers in storage that are not used, but can still be repaired. Patiently waiting for students' laptops to be repaired may affect their learning, or the ability of students to miss out on assignments. There is an easier way for students to identify basic problem issues quickly to ensure they stay connected to their schoolwork.
