Essential Tips for Students

Become a Pro on Your Chromebook:

Why SmartFix?

SmartFix would be significant for schools to address students' grasp of technology by combining hands-on computer repair with simpler coding solutions. Some strengths of this project are the software and hardware components, both of which tackle the issues of malfunctioning laptops and the software side by creating a debugging app that provides second-hand guidance for students with common technical problems. This different perspective will ensure that students not only have functional devices but also gain another tool to better solve basic issues independently, encouraging self-support and confidence in using technology. Another strength is empowering students through this troubleshooting app, allowing them to engage more in maintaining their devices rather than relying on school IT support.

03

Step

If the laptop is slow, check how many tabs are open. Too many open tabs including video sites can drain the battery and slow down the processor.

- If student can't log in, have them "remove User" and re-add their school account. This often clears "stuck" data that causes login failures.

04

Step

There is a small light and tell you what the battery is doing.

Is the light is orange, it is still drinking power. If it is Green or white, it is full. If there is no light, your charger might be broken or the plug in the wall isnt working. Try a different outlet before thinking the computer is dead.
